Who we are
One church family in 5 coffee shops.
A Christ-centered church valued in community, focused on relationship that leads to redefinition.
Our story
Started with a question: what is church?
On January 23, 2006, Corner Church went public with a handful of people in Montana Coffeehouse. While that date marked a beginning, it was not where it started. Scott and Amber Woller had been wrestling with what God was calling them to do — and the answer kept coming back to the same thing: church should be community, local, relational, and transformational.
It quickly became apparent that Downtown Minneapolis was not in need of more information about Christ or another invitation to attend a service. The city needed redefinition — a new experience of what church and Christians could actually be.
That conviction formed the vision: a Corner Church and a valued-in-community business within walking distance of everyone in the urban dense parts of our city. We can't believe we get to do this.

How it works
1
One church family
All five communities share the same leadership, resources, and mission. One church family that happens to meet in five different neighborhoods.
5
Five communities
Each gathering has its own community pastor and its own personality — shaped by the neighborhood it calls home.
6
Six service options
Five in-person gatherings across Minneapolis, plus a live stream every Sunday for those who can't make it in person.
Values
What we're built on.
Story
Shared story is what creates relationship. Knowing and writing stories together begin the journey of friendship and community.
Real Relationship
True community happens at a human scale. Face to face. Not by accident, but through continual, intentional relationship with one another.
Seeking Spiritual Reality
It is OK to have doubts. Our faith says that an honest pursuit of spiritual reality leads us to Christ.
Ownership
The church is not the pastor's. The church is yours. Together we disciple others and allow ourselves to be discipled.
Together
God has a plan and purpose for every individual. Community is where those plans and purposes can be lived out.
Every Community
We want to see a healthy church within walking distance of everyone.
Culture
What it feels like here.
Authentic People
Throughout history God has used normal, unimpressive people. You don't have to be the best. Come as you are.
Inclusive
The pathway to being a valued part of community is not filled with a list of prerequisites. Perfection is not an obstacle in the pathway of involvement.
It's OK to Talk in Church
It is OK to not have all the answers. The purpose of discussion is to internalize what we are talking about and to embrace relationship. Corner Church is a safe place to talk, listen, and question.
Love the World; Love Each Other
Jesus said the greatest command was to love God and to love your neighbor. The fullest expression of love for God is love for humanity.
Better Than Yesterday
The world's problems can't be fixed in a day. Jesus invites us to come as we are, but insists we not stay that way.
Success
What we're working toward.
Valued in Community
We strive to add value to people and organizations in our neighborhoods. If we were to move from our neighborhoods tomorrow, we should be missed, not forgotten.
Redefinition
We strive to redefine Christianity and God's character to those who have negative connotations of church, Christ, and Christians — through loving relationship with one another.
Faith is a Process
We strive to encourage people to grow in faith. Faith takes time, and it is never a completed process. It requires daily decisions to stay committed.
Responsibility
We strive to move from consumer to contributor of our time, talents, and treasures.
Crowdsourced Church
We strive to do life as God designed it: in community. A part of a body is not whole apart from the sum of all the parts.
Replication
We strive to be disciples who make disciples and a church that plants churches. Replication starts with the individual, which leads to multiplication of the church.
Beliefs
What we believe.
Our beliefs are rooted in historic, orthodox Christianity as expressed in the Apostle's Creed. We hold these convictions with humility, knowing that faith is always a process — never a completed one. Doubts are welcome here.
Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
