Why Connection Events?
Why? Why not?!
Relationships have many degrees and stages. Paul uses the illustration of a body in 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 to describe relationships in the church. Every part is necessary. Each part needs and is needed by the others. This deep level of symbiosis and synergy does not happen by accident or by simply being in the same room on occasion. Connection Events are a step towards what Paul is talking about.
What is a Connection Event?
Intentional / Relational / Prayerful
A Connection Event is an event for people to enjoy time with others and enjoy something that is happening in and/or around our great state!
Some examples include:
- Ride bikes together
- Play disc golf
- Go for a walk
- Eat tacos
- Have a bonfire
- Host a game night
- Go to a concert
- Play volleyball
- Play pickleball
- Have dinner with friends
- Hold an after-church brunch
- Have a movie night
- Bring dogs to a dog park
- Take other humans with you to a human park
How do Connection Events work?
What is the process?
Connection Events are designed to facilitate the growth of deeper relationships. That comes through time together doing different things. Plan something together and do it!

Elements of a Successful Connection Event:
Aiming towards success
- Clear communication. Having all the details communicated from the beginning helps people know what they are getting involved in and helps people stay involved for the duration.
- Cross-community. Having Corner Church people from each community involved is ideal. We are better together.
- Inclusion. Having people involved who do not attend Corner Church is the best! New connection and relationship is the heart of God.
- Frequent invitation. Reminding people who are involved about what is happening with emails and text messages not only helps but is paramount to the success of an event.
